The contents of DCR 563 are amended to include the following amendments and additions:
1. Replace the existing Change Description on the DCN page of ESCC 3401/022 with the following:

Specification updated to incorporate editorial and technical changes per DCR.
Note – Changes include modifications to Variants 17 to 43, 81, 82 and 83 with respect to their specified mechanical configuration, dimension limits and/or maximum weight. However these Variants remain form, fit and function interchangeable with the obsolete versions they replace.

2. Para. 2 -
Amend the titles of the specs in (a),(b),(c) and (e) to reflect the actual spec titles.
Delete reference to QQ & MIL specs (see comment 3 on Para. 4.4.1 below).
3. Para. 4.4.1 -
Title and content to be deleted and replaced with:

4.4.1 Screw Lock Assemblies, Potting Shells, Back Shells, Clamps
Screw lock assemblies (brass), potting shells, back shells and clamps shall be made of brass with gold (0.7µm minimum) over copper (1µm minimum) plating.
Screw lock assemblies (stainless steel) shall be made of passivated stainless steel.

Justification for the above amendments:
1 - Clarification for users.
2, 3 - Definition of the base material and plating is considered sufficient without reference to specific non-ESCC material specifications; It is considered unnecessary to prescribe the actual material specifications to be applied by the Manufacturer (which will be controlled by their PID).
